MALT1 Break Apart FISH Probe
Our MALT1 break apart probe is designed to detect MALT1 translocations. The probe comes labeled in orange and green, but can be customized to meet your needs.
Gene background: MALT1 has been found recurrently rearranged in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphomas. The most frequent chromosomal abnormality in MALT lymphoma is a reciprocal t(11;18)(q22;q21.3), involving BIRC3 and MALT1. Another recurrent translocation, t(14;18)(q32;q21.3), fuses IGH and MALT1.

Gene Summary
This gene has been found to be recurrently rearranged in chromosomal translocation with two other genes - baculoviral IAP repeat-containing protein 3 (also known as apoptosis inhibitor 2) and immunoglobulin heavy chain locus - in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphomas. The protein encoded by this gene may play a role in NF-kappaB activation. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
