ZIC5 FISH Probe
The ZIC5 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the ZIC5 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the ZIC family of C2H2-type zinc finger proteins. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional repressor. Studies in mouse and Xenopus support a role for this gene in neural crest development. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in various human cancers and may contribute to cancer progression. This gene is closely linked to a related family member on chromosome 13.
