SPINK9 FISH Probe
The SPINK9 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the SPINK9 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a Kazal-type serine protease inhibitor that appears to specifically target kallikrein-related peptidase 5 (KLK5) in the palmo-plantar epidermis. KLK5 is an important initiator of skin desquamation, so the encoded protease inhibitor may regulate skin differentiation in the palms of hands and soles of feet. This cationic protein has also been shown to promote keratinocyte migration by activation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
