SNORD43 FISH Probe
The SNORD43 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the SNORD43 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Intronic regions of ribosomal protein genes can harbor noncoding small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs), like SNORD43, which are generated during pre-mRNA processing. snoRNAs form part of the small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein particles (snoRNPs) involved in pre-rRNA processing and modification. snoRNAs of the box C/D class, like SNORD43, function in 2-prime-O-ribose methylation of rRNAs (Duga et al., 2000 [PubMed 10684968]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
