PLEK2 FISH Probe
The PLEK2 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the PLEK2 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene associates with membrane-bound phosphatidylinositols generated by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. The encoded protein then interacts with the actin cytoskeleton to induce cell spreading. In conjunction with complement component 1, q subcomponent, B chain (C1QB), this gene shows an increase in expression in melanoma cells and may serve as an accurate biomarker for the disease.
