PKD1P4-NPIPA8 FISH Probe
The PKD1P4-NPIPA8 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the PKD1P4-NPIPA8 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This locus represents naturally-occurring readthrough transcription between an unprocessed pseudogenes, PKD1P4 (polycystin 1, transient receptor potential channel interacting pseudogene 4) and a protein-coding gene, NPIPA8 (nuclear pore complex interacting protein family member A8). Readthrough transcripts include regions of similarity to both gene families and are unlikely to be translated into functional proteins. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]
