PAX6DRR FISH Probe

The PAX6DRR FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the PAX6DRR gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary

This region represents a cluster of enhancers located approximately 100 kb downstream of the PAX6 (paired box 6) gene. It includes multiple highly conserved regions and DNase I hypersensitive sites. One of these conserved regions, called SIMO, includes a binding site for the Pax6 protein and is important for establishing an autoregulatory feedback loop for PAX6 expression. Deletion, mutation, or chromosomal rearrangement of this region can phenocopy mutation in the PAX6 gene and result in aniridia. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
