OR6-6 FISH Probe
The OR6-6 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the OR6-6 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that functions as an olfactory receptor. Olfactory receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of a smell. The protein encoded by this gene responds to cis-3-hexen-1-ol, which is released by wounded plants, including cut grass. This gene is situated in a cluster of similar olfactory-receptor coding genes on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]
