MUC12 FISH Probe
The MUC12 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the MUC12 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes an integral membrane glycoprotein that is a member of the mucin family. Mucins are O-glycosylated proteins that play an essential role in forming protective mucous barriers on epithelial surfaces and have been implicated in epithelial renewal and differentiation. These glycoproteins also play a role in intracellular signaling. This protein is expressed on the apical membrane surface of epithelial cells that line the mucosal surfaces of many different tissues including the colon, pancreas, prostate, and uterus.
