MFCS1 FISH Probe
The MFCS1 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the MFCS1 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This locus represents a highly conserved functional element that is located in an intron of the limb development membrane protein 1 gene. In the developing limb bud, this element functions as a long-range enhancer of the sonic hedgehog gene, which is located approximately 1 Mb downstream. Mutations in this element disrupt limb patterning and can result in a range of congenital limb malformations, including preaxial polydactyly, triphalangeal thumbs, Werner mesomelic syndrome (WMS), polysyndactyly, or Laurin-Sandrow syndrome.
