The ITPK1 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the ITPK1 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary

This gene encodes an enzyme that belongs to the inositol 1,3,4-trisphosphate 5/6-kinase family. This enzyme regulates the synthesis of inositol tetraphosphate, and downstream products, inositol pentakisphosphate and inositol hexakisphosphate. Inositol metabolism plays a role in the development of the neural tube. Disruptions in this gene are thought to be associated with neural tube defects. A pseudogene of this gene has been identified on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
