EIF3S8 FISH Probe
The EIF3S8 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the EIF3S8 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a core subunit of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex. The encoded protein is nearly identical to another protein, eIF3c, from a related gene. The eIF3 complex binds the 40S ribosome and mRNAs to enable translation initiation. Several transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
