CNTNAP4 FISH Probe
The CNTNAP4 FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the CNTNAP4 gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the neurexin protein family. Members of this family function in the vertebrate nervous system as cell adhesion molecules and receptors. This protein contains epidermal growth factor repeats and laminin G domains. In addition, it includes an F5/8 type C domain, discoidin/neuropilin- and fibrinogen-like domains, and thrombospondin N-terminal-like domains. This protein may also play a role in proper neurotransmission in the dopaminergic and GABAergic systems and mutations in this gene may be associated with certain psychiatric illnesses.
