CD2-LCR Break Apart FISH Probe
Empire Genomics’ CD2-LCR Break Apart FISH Probe is designed to flank the CD2-LCR gene and is typically used for detecting CD2-LCR rearrangements such as translocations. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe comes labeled in green and orange by default, but may be customized to meet your needs.

Gene Summary
This element represents a locus control region (LCR) that can confer T cell-specific, copy number-dependent, position-independent expression on the CD2 gene in transgenic mice. It is located immediately downstream of the 3' terminal exon of the CD2 gene, and is characterized by three DNase I hypersensitive sites and a core enhancer region. This LCR and the enhancer sub-region have been used to drive T cell-specific expression of several heterologous genes in various vector systems, including retroviral and lentiviral vectors. A truncated version of the LCR has been shown to be heterochromatin-sensitive, and has thus been useful for studying chromatin-related processes, such as triplet-repeat-associated position effect variegation.
