CD2-DCR FISH Probe
The CD2-DCR FISH probe is designed to hybridize to the CD2-DCR gene and is primarily used for detecting amplifications and deletions associated with the gene. This probe is FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood metaphase spreads and interphase nuclei. The probe can be labeled in one of five colors. Each probe is sold in a 20 test kit (approximately 20 slides - 22x22 mm area) and includes hybridization buffer. Please note that due to design optimizations, prices are subject to change.

Gene Summary
This element represents a locus control region (LCR) that can confer T cell-specific, copy number-dependent, position-independent expression on the CD2 gene in transgenic mice. It is located immediately downstream of the 3' terminal exon of the CD2 gene, and is characterized by three DNase I hypersensitive sites and a core enhancer region. This LCR and the enhancer sub-region have been used to drive T cell-specific expression of several heterologous genes in various vector systems, including retroviral and lentiviral vectors. A truncated version of the LCR has been shown to be heterochromatin-sensitive, and has thus been useful for studying chromatin-related processes, such as triplet-repeat-associated position effect variegation.
