ZNF536-SPTBN1 Fusion FISH Probe
The ZNF536-SPTBN1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF536 and SPTBN1 genes. The fusion of the ZNF536 and SPTBN1 genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

SPTBN1 Gene Summary
Spectrin is an actin crosslinking and molecular scaffold protein that links the plasma membrane to the actin cytoskeleton, and functions in the determination of cell shape, arrangement of transmembrane proteins, and organization of organelles. It is composed of two antiparallel dimers of alpha- and beta- subunits. This gene is one member of a family of beta-spectrin genes. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal actin-binding domain, and 17 spectrin repeats which are involved in dimer formation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Spectrin Beta, Non-erythrocytic 1
Chromosome: CHR2: 54683453 -54898583
Locus: 2p16.2
ZNF536 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a highly conserved zinc finger protein. The encoded protein is most abundant in brain, where it negatively regulates neuronal differentiation. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 536
Chromosome: CHR19: 30863327 -31048965
Locus: 19q12
