ZNF512-KCNK3 Fusion FISH Probe
The ZNF512-KCNK3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF512 and KCNK3 genes. The fusion of the ZNF512 and KCNK3 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

KCNK3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins that contain two pore-forming P domains. The encoded protein is an outwardly rectifying channel that is sensitive to changes in extracellular pH and is inhibited by extracellular acidification. Also referred to as an acid-sensitive potassium channel, it is activated by the anesthetics halothane and isoflurane. Although three transcripts are detected in northern blots, there is currently no sequence available to confirm transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]
Gene Name: Potassium Two Pore Domain Channel Subfamily K Member 3
Chromosome: CHR2: 26915580 -26954066
Locus: 2p23.3
ZNF512 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein containing four putative zinc finger motifs. Zinc finger motifs may bind to proteins or nucleic acids. Zinc finger-containing proteins are involved in a variety of processes, including regulation of transcription. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2012]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 512
