ZNF420-SPINT2 Fusion FISH Probe

The ZNF420-SPINT2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF420 and SPINT2 genes. The fusion of the ZNF420 and SPINT2 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

SPINT2 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a transmembrane protein with two extracellular Kunitz domains that inhibits a variety of serine proteases. The protein inhibits HGF activator which prevents the formation of active hepatocyte growth factor. This gene is a putative tumor suppressor, and mutations in this gene result in congenital sodium diarrhea. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Gene Name: Serine Peptidase Inhibitor, Kunitz Type 2

Chromosome: CHR19: 38755097 -38783254

Locus: 19q13.2

ZNF420 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is a KRAB-type zinc finger protein that negatively-regulates p53-mediated apoptosis. Under stress conditions, the encoded protein is phosphorylated by ATM and dissociates from p53, which activates p53 and initiates apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]

Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 420

Chromosome: CHR19: 37569381 -37620651

Locus: 19q13.12
