ZNF292-PTPRO Fusion FISH Probe
The ZNF292-PTPRO Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF292 and PTPRO genes. The fusion of the ZNF292 and PTPRO genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

PTPRO Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the R3 subtype family of receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatases. These proteins are localized to the apical surface of polarized cells and may have tissue-specific functions through activation of Src family kinases. This gene contains two distinct promoters, and alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed. The encoded proteins may have multiple isoform-specific and tissue-specific functions, including the regulation of osteoclast production and activity, inhibition of cell proliferation and facilitation of apoptosis. This gene is a candidate tumor suppressor, and decreased expression of this gene has been observed in several types of cancer. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]
Gene Name: Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, Receptor Type O
Chromosome: CHR12: 15475190 -15751265
Locus: 12p13-p12
ZNF292 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a growth hormone-dependent, zinc finger transcription factor that functions as a tumor suppressor. Naturally occurring mutations in this gene are associated with gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 292
Chromosome: CHR6: 87865268 -87973406
