ZNF224-CYP2S1 Fusion FISH Probe
The ZNF224-CYP2S1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF224 and CYP2S1 genes. The fusion of the ZNF224 and CYP2S1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ZNF224 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger family of proteins. The encoded protein represses transcription of the aldolase A gene, which encodes a key enzyme in glycolysis. The encoded zinc-finger protein may also function as a transcriptional co-activator with Wilms' tumor protein 1 to regulate apoptotic genes in leukemia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 224
Chromosome: CHR19: 44598481 -44612479
Locus: 19q13.31
CYP2S1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum. In rodents, the homologous protein has been shown to metabolize certain carcinogens; however, the specific function of the human protein has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Cytochrome P450 Family 2 Subfamily S Member 1
Chromosome: CHR19: 41699114 -41713444
Locus: 19q13.2
