ZNF197-TAF3 Fusion FISH Probe
The ZNF197-TAF3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZNF197 and TAF3 genes. The fusion of the ZNF197 and TAF3 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ZNF197 Gene Summary
This gene product belongs to the zinc finger protein superfamily, members of which are regulatory proteins characterized by nucleic acid-binding zinc finger domains. The encoded protein contains 20 tandemly arrayed C2H2-type zinc fingers, a Kruppel-associated box (KRAB) domain, and a SCAN box. This transcript turns over rapidly and contains 3' UTR AUUUA motifs, which are often a hallmark of rapid turnover. It is overexpressed in some thyroid papillary carcinomas. This gene is located in a cluster of zinc finger genes at 3p21. Naturally-occurring readthrough transcription is observed between this gene and the upstream zinc finger protein 660 gene and is represented by GeneID:110354863. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger Protein 197
Chromosome: CHR3: 44666510 -44689963
Locus: 3p21.31
TAF3 Gene Summary
The highly conserved RNA polymerase II transcription factor TFIID (see TAF1; MIM 313650) comprises the TATA box-binding protein (TBP; MIM 600075) and a set of TBP-associated factors (TAFs), including TAF3. TAFs contribute to promoter recognition and selectivity and act as antiapoptotic factors (Gangloff et al., 2001 [PubMed 11438666]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2009]
Gene Name: TATA-box Binding Protein Associated Factor 3
Chromosome: CHR10: 7860672 -8056714
Locus: 10p14
