ZMYND8-EYA2 Fusion FISH Probe
The ZMYND8-EYA2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the ZMYND8 and EYA2 genes. The fusion of the ZMYND8 and EYA2 genes has been associated with Ovarian Serous Cystadenocarcinoma, and Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

EYA2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the eyes absent (EYA) family of proteins. The encoded protein may be post-translationally modified and may play a role in eye development. A similar protein in mice can act as a transcriptional activator. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, but the full-length natures of all of these variants have not yet been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]
Gene Name: EYA Transcriptional Coactivator And Phosphatase 2
Chromosome: CHR20: 45523262 -45817492
Locus: 20q13.12
ZMYND8 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for activated C-kinase (RACK) protein. The encoded protein has been shown to bind in vitro to activated protein kinase C beta I. In addition, this protein is a cutaneous T-cell lymphoma-associated antigen. Finally, the protein contains a bromodomain and two zinc fingers, and is thought to be a transcriptional regulator. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Zinc Finger MYND-type Containing 8
Chromosome: CHR20: 45838380 -45985474
Locus: 20q13.12
