YWHAZ-GAL Fusion FISH Probe
The YWHAZ-GAL Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the YWHAZ and GAL genes. The fusion of the YWHAZ and GAL genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

YWHAZ Gene Summary
This gene product belongs to the 14-3-3 family of proteins which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. This highly conserved protein family is found in both plants and mammals, and this protein is 99% identical to the mouse, rat and sheep orthologs. The encoded protein interacts with IRS1 protein, suggesting a role in regulating insulin sensitivity. Several transcript variants that differ in the 5' UTR but that encode the same protein have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
Gene Name: Tyrosine 3-monooxygenase/tryptophan 5-monooxygenase Activation Protein Zeta
Chromosome: CHR8: 101930803 -101965623
Locus: 8q22.3
GAL Gene Summary
This gene encodes a neuroendocrine peptide that is widely expressed in the central and peripheral nervous systems and also the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, adrenal gland and urogenital tract. The encoded protein is a precursor that is proteolytically processed to generate two mature peptides: galanin and galanin message-associated peptide (GMAP). Galanin has diverse physiological functions including nociception, feeding and energy homeostasis, osmotic regulation and water balance. GMAP has been demonstrated to possess antifungal activity and hypothesized to be part of the innate immune system. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]
Gene Name: Galanin And GMAP Prepropeptide
Chromosome: CHR11: 68451982 -68458643
Locus: 11q13.2
