XRN1-RUVBL1 Fusion FISH Probe
The XRN1-RUVBL1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the XRN1 and RUVBL1 genes. The fusion of the XRN1 and RUVBL1 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

RUVBL1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that has both DNA-dependent ATPase and DNA helicase activities and belongs to the ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities (AAA+) protein family. The encoded protein associates with several multisubunit transcriptional complexes and with protein complexes involved in both ATP-dependent remodeling and histone modification. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]
Gene Name: RuvB Like AAA ATPase 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 127799799 -127842671
Locus: 3q21.3
XRN1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the 5'-3' exonuclease family. The encoded protein may be involved in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation, and interacts directly with the enhancer of mRNA-decapping protein 4. In addition to mRNA metabolism, a similar protein in yeast has been implicated in a variety of nuclear and cytoplasmic functions, including homologous recombination, meiosis, telomere maintenance, and microtubule assembly. Mutations in this gene are associated with osteosarcoma, suggesting that the encoded protein may also play a role in bone formation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: 5'-3' Exoribonuclease 1
Chromosome: CHR3: 142025448 -142166853
Locus: 3q23
