XPR1-DEDD Fusion FISH Probe
The XPR1-DEDD Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the XPR1 and DEDD genes. The fusion of the XPR1 and DEDD genes has been associated with Bladder Urothelial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DEDD Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein that contains a death effector domain (DED). DED is a protein-protein interaction domain shared by adaptors, regulators and executors of the programmed cell death pathway. Overexpression of this gene was shown to induce weak apoptosis. Upon stimulation, this protein was found to translocate from cytoplasm to nucleus and colocalize with UBTF, a basal factor required for RNA polymerase I transcription, in the nucleolus. At least three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Death Effector Domain Containing
Chromosome: CHR1: 161090768 -161102478
Locus: 1q23.3
XPR1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for the xenotropic and polytropic classes of murine leukemia viruses. The encoded protein is involved in phosphate homeostasis by mediating phosphate export from the cell. Defects in this gene have been associated with idiopathic basal ganglia calcification-6.
