WNK2-CENPP Fusion FISH Probe
The WNK2-CENPP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the WNK2 and CENPP genes. The fusion of the WNK2 and CENPP genes has been associated with Uterine Carcinosarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

WNK2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic serine-threonine kinase that belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. The protein plays an important role in the regulation of electrolyte homeostasis, cell signaling survival, and proliferation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. CENPP Gene Summary
CENPP is a subunit of a CENPH (MIM 605607)-CENPI (MIM 300065)-associated centromeric complex that targets CENPA (MIM 117139) to centromeres and is required for proper kinetochore function and mitotic progression (Okada et al., 2006 [PubMed 16622420]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Centromere Protein P
