WNK1-DUSP16 Fusion FISH Probe

The WNK1-DUSP16 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the WNK1 and DUSP16 genes. The fusion of the WNK1 and DUSP16 genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

WNK1 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member of the WNK subfamily of serine/threonine protein kinases. The encoded protein may be a key regulator of blood pressure by controlling the transport of sodium and chloride ions. Mutations in this gene have been associated with pseudohypoaldosteronism type II and hereditary sensory neuropathy type II. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described but the full-length nature of all of them has yet to be determined.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: WNK Lysine Deficient Protein Kinase 1

Chromosome: CHR12: 862088 -1020618

Locus: 12p13.33

DUSP16 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase that is a member of the dual specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. These phosphatases inactivate their target kinases by dephosphorylating both the phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues. The encoded protein specifically regulates the c-Jun amino-terminal kinase (JNK) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathways.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Gene Name: Dual Specificity Phosphatase 16

Chromosome: CHR12: 12626215 -12715448

Locus: 12p13.2
