VPS13B-DPYS Fusion FISH Probe
The VPS13B-DPYS Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the VPS13B and DPYS genes. The fusion of the VPS13B and DPYS genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DPYS Gene Summary
Dihydropyrimidinase catalyzes the conversion of 5,6-dihydrouracil to 3-ureidopropionate in pyrimidine metabolism. Dihydropyrimidinase is expressed at a high level in liver and kidney as a major 2.5-kb transcript and a minor 3.8-kb transcript. Defects in the DPYS gene are linked to dihydropyrimidinuria. Gene Name: Dihydropyrimidinase
Chromosome: CHR8: 105391651 -105479277
Locus: 8q22.3
VPS13B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a potential transmembrane protein that may function in vesicle-mediated transport and sorting of proteins within the cell. This protein may play a role in the development and the function of the eye, hematological system, and central nervous system. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Cohen syndrome. Multiple splice variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Vacuolar Protein Sorting 13 Homolog B
Chromosome: CHR8: 100025493 -100889808
Locus: 8q22.2
