VAX2-PAIP2B Fusion FISH Probe
The VAX2-PAIP2B Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the VAX2 and PAIP2B genes. The fusion of the VAX2 and PAIP2B genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

VAX2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a homeobox protein and is almost exclusively expressed in the ventral portion of the retina during development. In mouse studies, this gene was found to be required for the correct formation of the optic fissure and other aspects of retinal development. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]
Gene Name: Ventral Anterior Homeobox 2
Chromosome: CHR2: 71127719 -71160575
Locus: 2p13.3
PAIP2B Gene Summary
Most mRNAs, except for histones, contain a 3-prime poly(A) tail. Poly(A)-binding protein (PABP; see MIM 604679) enhances translation by circularizing mRNA through its interaction with the translation initiation factor EIF4G1 (MIM 600495) and the poly(A) tail. Various PABP-binding proteins regulate PABP activity, including PAIP1 (MIM 605184), a translational stimulator, and PAIP2A (MIM 605604) and PAIP2B, translational inhibitors (Derry et al., 2006 [PubMed 17381337]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: Poly(A) Binding Protein Interacting Protein 2B
Chromosome: CHR2: 71409867 -71454233
Locus: 2p13.3
