VAV2-FNBP1 Fusion FISH Probe
The VAV2-FNBP1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the VAV2 and FNBP1 genes. The fusion of the VAV2 and FNBP1 genes has been associated with Lymphoid Neoplasm Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

VAV2 Gene Summary
VAV2 is the second member of the VAV guanine nucleotide exchange factor family of oncogenes. Unlike VAV1, which is expressed exclusively in hematopoietic cells, VAV2 transcripts were found in most tissues. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]
Gene Name: Vav Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 2
Chromosome: CHR9: 136627015 -136857446
Locus: 9q34.2
FNBP1 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the formin-binding-protein family. The protein contains an N-terminal Fer/Cdc42-interacting protein 4 (CIP4) homology (FCH) domain followed by a coiled-coil domain, a proline-rich motif, a second coiled-coil domain, a Rho family protein-binding domain (RBD), and a C-terminal SH3 domain. This protein binds sorting nexin 2 (SNX2), tankyrase (TNKS), and dynamin; an interaction between this protein and formin has not been demonstrated yet in human. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Formin Binding Protein 1
Chromosome: CHR9: 132649465 -132805473
Locus: 9q34.11
