USPL1-IGSF8 Fusion FISH Probe

The USPL1-IGSF8 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the USPL1 and IGSF8 genes. The fusion of the USPL1 and IGSF8 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

USPL1 Gene Summary

The Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase Like 1 (USPL1) gene is located on chr13 :31191829-31233686 at 13q12.3.

Gene Name: Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase Like 1

Chromosome: CHR13: 31191829 -31233686

Locus: 13q12.3

IGSF8 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a member the EWI subfamily of the immunoglobulin protein superfamily. Members of this family contain a single transmembrane domain, an EWI (Glu-Trp-Ile)-motif and a variable number of immunoglobulin domains. This protein interacts with the tetraspanins CD81 and CD9 and may regulate their role in certain cellular functions including cell migration and viral infection. The encoded protein may also function as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting the proliferation of certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]

Gene Name: Immunoglobulin Superfamily Member 8

Chromosome: CHR1: 160061129 -160068618

Locus: 1q23.2
