USP48-INA Fusion FISH Probe

The USP48-INA Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the USP48 and INA genes. The fusion of the USP48 and INA genes has been associated with Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use.

INA Gene Summary

Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light, medium, and heavy chains. Neurofilaments comprise the axoskeleton and they functionally maintain the neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. This gene is a member of the intermediate filament family and is involved in the morphogenesis of neurons. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]

Gene Name: Internexin Neuronal Intermediate Filament Protein Alpha

Chromosome: CHR10: 105036919 -105050108

Locus: 10q24.33

USP48 Gene Summary

This gene encodes a protein containing domains that associate it with the peptidase family C19, also known as family 2 of ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolases. Family members function as deubiquitinating enzymes, recognizing and hydrolyzing the peptide bond at the C-terminal glycine of ubiquitin. Enzymes in peptidase family C19 are involved in the processing of poly-ubiquitin precursors as well as that of ubiquitinated proteins. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: Ubiquitin Specific Peptidase 48

Chromosome: CHR1: 22004791 -22109688

Locus: 1p36.12
