USF1-UCK2 Fusion FISH Probe
The USF1-UCK2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the USF1 and UCK2 genes. The fusion of the USF1 and UCK2 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

UCK2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a pyrimidine ribonucleoside kinase. The encoded protein (EC 2.7.1.48) catalyzes phosphorylation of uridine and cytidine to uridine monophosphate (UMP) and cytidine monophosphate (CMP), respectively.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]
Gene Name: Uridine-cytidine Kinase 2
Chromosome: CHR1: 165796731 -165880855
Locus: 1q24.1
USF1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper family, and can function as a cellular transcription factor. The encoded protein can activate transcription through pyrimidine-rich initiator (Inr) elements and E-box motifs. This gene has been linked to familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCHL). Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. A related pseudogene has been defined on chromosome 21. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2013]
Gene Name: Upstream Transcription Factor 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 161009040 -161015757
Locus: 1q23.3
