UNC5B-ADAP2 Fusion FISH Probe
The UNC5B-ADAP2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UNC5B and ADAP2 genes. The fusion of the UNC5B and ADAP2 genes has been associated with Mesothelioma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

ADAP2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene binds beta-tubulin and increases the stability of microtubules. The encoded protein can also translocate to the cell membrane and bind phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdInsP3) and inositol 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate (InsP4). In addition, this protein is a GTPase-activating protein for ADP ribosylation factor 6 and may be able to block the entry of some RNA viruses. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2016]
Gene Name: ArfGAP With Dual PH Domains 2
Chromosome: CHR17: 29248753 -29286211
Locus: 17q11.2
UNC5B Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the netrin family of receptors. This particular protein mediates the repulsive effect of netrin-1 and is a vascular netrin receptor. This encoded protein is also in a group of proteins called dependence receptors (DpRs) which are involved in pro- and anti-apoptotic processes. Many DpRs are involved in embryogenesis and in cancer progression. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]
