UIMC1-MXD3 Fusion FISH Probe
The UIMC1-MXD3 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UIMC1 and MXD3 genes. The fusion of the UIMC1 and MXD3 genes has been associated with Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma, and Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

UIMC1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nuclear protein that interacts with Brca1 (breast cancer 1) in a complex to recognize and repair DNA lesions. This protein binds ubiquitinated lysine 63 of histone H2A and H2AX. This protein may also function as a repressor of transcription. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: Ubiquitin Interaction Motif Containing 1
Chromosome: CHR5: 176332005 -176433795
Locus: 5q35.2
MXD3 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the Myc superfamily of basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcriptional regulators. The encoded protein forms a heterodimer with the cofactor MAX which binds specific E-box DNA motifs in the promoters of target genes and regulates their transcription. Disruption of the MAX-MXD3 complex is associated with uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. Transcript variants of this gene encoding different isoforms have been described.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Gene Name: MAX Dimerization Protein 3
Chromosome: CHR5: 176732500 -176739292
Locus: 5q35.3
