UGCG-UBXN11 Fusion FISH Probe
The UGCG-UBXN11 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UGCG and UBXN11 genes. The fusion of the UGCG and UBXN11 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

UGCG Gene Summary
This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the first glycosylation step in the biosynthesis of glycosphingolipids, which are membrane components containing lipid and sugar moieties. The product of this reaction is glucosylceramide, which is the core structure of many glycosphingolipids. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]
Gene Name: UDP-glucose Ceramide Glucosyltransferase
Chromosome: CHR9: 114659205 -114695433
Locus: 9q31.3
UBXN11 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a protein with a divergent C-terminal UBX domain. The homologous protein in the rat interacts with members of the Rnd subfamily of Rho GTPases at the cell periphery through its C-terminal region. It also interacts with several heterotrimeric G proteins through their G-alpha subunits and promotes Rho GTPase activation. It is proposed to serve a bidirectional role in the promotion and inhibition of Rho activity through upstream signaling pathways. The 3' coding sequence of this gene contains a polymoprhic region of 24 nt tandem repeats. Several transcripts containing between 1.5 and five repeat units have been reported. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: UBX Domain Protein 11
Chromosome: CHR1: 26608772 -26644756
Locus: 1p36.11
