UFSP2-EPHA4 Fusion FISH Probe
The UFSP2-EPHA4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UFSP2 and EPHA4 genes. The fusion of the UFSP2 and EPHA4 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma . These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

EPHA4 Gene Summary
This gene belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein-tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors have been implicated in mediating developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. Receptors in the EPH subfamily typically have a single kinase domain and an extracellular region containing a Cys-rich domain and 2 fibronectin type III repeats. The ephrin receptors are divided into 2 groups based on the similarity of their extracellular domain sequences and their affinities for binding ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2015]
Gene Name: EPH Receptor A4
Chromosome: CHR2: 222282746 -222437010
Locus: 2q36.1
UFSP2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a highly conserved cysteine protease. The protein cleaves two C-terminal residues from ubiquitin-fold modifier 1, a ubiquitin-like post-translational modifier protein. Activation of ubiquitin-fold modifier 1 by the encoded protein exposes a C-terminal glycine residue that allows interaction with other proteins and transfer to its target protein. An allelic variant of this gene has been associated with Beukes hip dysplasia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Name: UFM1 Specific Peptidase 2
Chromosome: CHR4: 186320693 -186347139
Locus: 4q35.1
