UBR2-XPO5 Fusion FISH Probe
The UBR2-XPO5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UBR2 and XPO5 genes. The fusion of the UBR2 and XPO5 genes has been associated with Prostate Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

UBR2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an E3 ubiquitin ligase of the N-end rule proteolytic pathway that targets proteins with destabilizing N-terminal residues for polyubiquitylation and proteasome-mediated degradation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010]
Gene Name: Ubiquitin Protein Ligase E3 Component N-recognin 2
Chromosome: CHR6: 42531759 -42661243
Locus: 6p21.1
XPO5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the karyopherin family that is required for the transport of small RNAs and double-stranded RNA-binding proteins from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. The encoded protein translocates cargo through the nuclear pore complex in a RanGTP-dependent process. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Gene Name: Exportin 5
Chromosome: CHR6: 43490067 -43543812
Locus: 6p21.1
