UBE4A-INSC Fusion FISH Probe
The UBE4A-INSC Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UBE4A and INSC genes. The fusion of the UBE4A and INSC genes has been associated with Rectum Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

UBE4A Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the U-box ubiquitin ligase family. The encoded protein is involved in multiubiquitin chain assembly and plays a critical role in chromosome condensation and separation through the polyubiquitination of securin. Autoantibodies against the encoded protein may be markers for scleroderma and Crohn's disease. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 3. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
Gene Name: Ubiquitination Factor E4A
Chromosome: CHR11: 118230295 -118269926
Locus: 11q23.3
INSC Gene Summary
In Drosophila, neuroblasts divide asymmetrically into another neuroblast at the apical side and a smaller ganglion mother cell on the basal side. Cell polarization is precisely regulated by 2 apically localized multiprotein signaling complexes that are tethered by Inscuteable, which regulates their apical localization (Izaki et al., 2006 [PubMed 16458856]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Gene Name: INSC, Spindle Orientation Adaptor Protein
Chromosome: CHR11: 15133969 -15268754
Locus: 11p15.2
