UBAP2-APTX Fusion FISH Probe
The UBAP2-APTX Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UBAP2 and APTX genes. The fusion of the UBAP2 and APTX genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

APTX Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the histidine triad (HIT) superfamily. The encoded protein may play a role in single-stranded DNA repair through its nucleotide-binding activity and its diadenosine polyphosphate hydrolase activity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with ataxia-ocular apraxia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2010]
Gene Name: Aprataxin
Chromosome: CHR9: 32972603 -33001639
Locus: 9p21.1
UBAP2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene contains a UBA (ubiquitin associated) domain, which is characteristic of proteins that function in the ubiquitination pathway. This gene may show increased expression in the adrenal gland and lymphatic tissues. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Ubiquitin Associated Protein 2
Chromosome: CHR9: 33921690 -34048947
Locus: 9p13.3
