UAP1-NOS1AP Fusion FISH Probe
The UAP1-NOS1AP Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the UAP1 and NOS1AP genes. The fusion of the UAP1 and NOS1AP genes has been associated with Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

UAP1 Gene Summary
The UDP-N-acetylglucosamine Pyrophosphorylase 1 (UAP1) gene is located on chr1 :162531295-162569633 at 1q23.3.
Gene Name: UDP-N-acetylglucosamine Pyrophosphorylase 1
Chromosome: CHR1: 162531295 -162569633
Locus: 1q23.3
NOS1AP Gene Summary
This gene encodes a cytosolic protein that binds to the signaling molecule, neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS). This protein has a C-terminal PDZ-binding domain that mediates interactions with nNOS and an N-terminal phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domain that binds to the small monomeric G protein, Dexras1. Studies of the related mouse and rat proteins have shown that this protein functions as an adapter protein linking nNOS to specific targets, such as Dexras1 and the synapsins. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]
