TYW1-TRA2A Fusion FISH Probe
The TYW1-TRA2A Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TYW1 and TRA2A genes. The fusion of the TYW1 and TRA2A genes has been associated with Stomach Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TRA2A Gene Summary
This gene is a member of the transformer 2 homolog family and encodes a protein with several RRM (RNA recognition motif) domains. This phosphorylated nuclear protein binds to specific RNA sequences and plays a role in the regulation of pre-mRNA splicing. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Gene Name: Transformer 2 Alpha Homolog
Chromosome: CHR7: 23544400 -23571656
Locus: 7p15.3
TYW1 Gene Summary
Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine found in phenylalanine tRNA adjacent to the anticodon that stabilizes codon-anticodon interactions in the ribosome. In yeast, the homolog of this gene is essential for the synthesis of wybutosine. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: TRNA-yW Synthesizing Protein 1 Homolog
Chromosome: CHR7: 66461816 -66704498
Locus: 7q11.21
