TXNRD2-EVX1 Fusion FISH Probe
The TXNRD2-EVX1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TXNRD2 and EVX1 genes. The fusion of the TXNRD2 and EVX1 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

EVX1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the even-skipped homeobox family characterized by the presence of a homeodomain closely related to the Drosophila even-skipped (eve) segmentation gene of the pair-rule class. The encoded protein may play an important role as a transcriptional repressor during embryogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Name: Even-skipped Homeobox 1
Chromosome: CHR7: 27282163 -27286192
Locus: 7p15.2
TXNRD2 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the pyridine nucleotide-disulfide oxidoreductase family, and is a member of the thioredoxin (Trx) system. Three thioredoxin reductase (TrxR) isozymes are found in mammals. TrxRs are selenocysteine-containing flavoenzymes, which reduce thioredoxins, as well as other substrates, and play a key role in redox homoeostasis. This gene encodes a mitochondrial form important for scavenging reactive oxygen species in mitochondria. It functions as a homodimer containing FAD, and selenocysteine (Sec) at the active site. Sec is encoded by UGA codon that normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTRs of selenoprotein mRNAs contain a conserved stem-loop structure, the Sec insertion sequence (SECIS) element, which is necessary for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon rather than as a stop signal. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms, including a few localized in the cytosol and some lacking the C-terminal Sec residue, have been found for this gene. Gene Name: Thioredoxin Reductase 2
Chromosome: CHR22: 19863039 -19929359
Locus: 22q11.21
