TUT1-BSCL2 Fusion FISH Probe
The TUT1-BSCL2 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TUT1 and BSCL2 genes. The fusion of the TUT1 and BSCL2 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

BSCL2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes the multi-pass transmembrane protein protein seipin. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and may be important for lipid droplet morphology. Mutations in this gene have been associated with congenital generalized lipodystrophy type 2 or Berardinelli-Seip syndrome, a rare autosomal recessive disease characterized by a near absence of adipose tissue and severe insulin resistance. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Naturally occurring read-through transcription occurs between this locus and the neighboring locus HNRNPUL2 (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U-like 2).[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
Gene Name: BSCL2, Seipin Lipid Droplet Biogenesis Associated
Chromosome: CHR11: 62457733 -62477091
Locus: 11q12.3
TUT1 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a nucleotidyl transferase that functions as both a terminal uridylyltransferase and a nuclear poly(A) polymerase. The encoded enzyme specifically adds and removes nucleotides from the 3' end of small nuclear RNAs and select mRNAs and may function in controlling gene expression and cell proliferation.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]
Gene Name: Terminal Uridylyl Transferase 1, U6 SnRNA-specific
Chromosome: CHR11: 62342516 -62359109
Locus: 11q12.3
