TSPAN9-PRR4 Fusion FISH Probe
The TSPAN9-PRR4 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TSPAN9 and PRR4 genes. The fusion of the TSPAN9 and PRR4 genes has been associated with Breast Invasive Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

TSPAN9 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding the same protein have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
Gene Name: Tetraspanin 9
Chromosome: CHR12: 3186520 -3395730
Locus: 12p13.33-p13.32
PRR4 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the proline-rich protein family that lacks a conserved repetitive domain. This protein may play a role in protective functions in the eye. Alternative splicing result in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the upstream PRH1 (proline-rich protein HaeIII subfamily 1) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]
Gene Name: Proline Rich 4 (lacrimal)
Chromosome: CHR12: 10998447 -11002075
Locus: 12p13.2
