TSPAN9-KLRG1 Fusion FISH Probe
The TSPAN9-KLRG1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TSPAN9 and KLRG1 genes. The fusion of the TSPAN9 and KLRG1 genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

KLRG1 Gene Summary
Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can mediate lysis of certain tumor cells and virus-infected cells without previous activation. They can also regulate specific humoral and cell-mediated immunity. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the killer cell lectin-like receptor (KLR) family, which is a group of transmembrane proteins preferentially expressed in NK cells. Studies in mice suggested that the expression of this gene may be regulated by MHC class I molecules. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]
Gene Name: Killer Cell Lectin Like Receptor G1
Chromosome: CHR12: 9142220 -9163340
Locus: 12p13.31
TSPAN9 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding the same protein have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]
Gene Name: Tetraspanin 9
Chromosome: CHR12: 3186520 -3395730
