TSEN2-ATG7 Fusion FISH Probe
The TSEN2-ATG7 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TSEN2 and ATG7 genes. The fusion of the TSEN2 and ATG7 genes has been associated with Sarcoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

ATG7 Gene Summary
This gene encodes an E1-like activating enzyme that is essential for autophagy and cytoplasmic to vacuole transport. The encoded protein is also thought to modulate p53-dependent cell cycle pathways during prolonged metabolic stress. It has been associated with multiple functions, including axon membrane trafficking, axonal homeostasis, mitophagy, adipose differentiation, and hematopoietic stem cell maintenance. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Gene Name: Autophagy Related 7
Chromosome: CHR3: 11314009 -11599139
Locus: 3p25.3
TSEN2 Gene Summary
This gene encodes one of the subunits of the tRNA splicing endonuclease. This endonuclease catalyzes the first step in RNA splicing which is the removal of introns. Mutations in this gene have been associated with pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 2. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 4. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
Gene Name: TRNA Splicing Endonuclease Subunit 2
Chromosome: CHR3: 12525930 -12574820
Locus: 3p25.2
