TRMU-GTSE1 Fusion FISH Probe

The TRMU-GTSE1 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRMU and GTSE1 genes. The fusion of the TRMU and GTSE1 genes has been associated with Head And Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma , and Uterine Corpus Endometrial Carcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

Turnaround Time: 7-10 Business Days    Shipping Time: 1-2 Day Expedited Shipping

GTSE1 Gene Summary

The protein encoded by this gene is only expressed in the S and G2 phases of the cell cycle, where it colocalizes with cytoplasmic tubulin and microtubules. In response to DNA damage, the encoded protein accumulates in the nucleus and binds the tumor suppressor protein p53, shuttling it out of the nucleus and repressing its ability to induce apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Gene Name: G2 And S-phase Expressed 1

Chromosome: CHR22: 46692637 -46726707

Locus: 22q13.31

TRMU Gene Summary

This nuclear gene encodes a mitochondrial tRNA-modifying enzyme. The encoded protein catalyzes the 2-thiolation of uridine on the wobble positions of tRNA(Lys), tRNA(Glu), and tRNA(Gln), resulting in the formation of 5-taurinomethyl-2-thiouridine moieties. Mutations in this gene may cause transient infantile liver failure. Polymorphisms in this gene may also influence the severity of deafness caused by mitochondrial 12S ribosomal RNA mutations. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]

Gene Name: TRNA 5-methylaminomethyl-2-thiouridylate Methyltransferase

Chromosome: CHR22: 46731297 -46753237

Locus: 22q13.31
