TRIP12-MAFF Fusion FISH Probe
The TRIP12-MAFF Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRIP12 and MAFF genes. The fusion of the TRIP12 and MAFF genes has been associated with Skin Cutaneous Melanoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.

TRIP12 Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase involved in the degradation of the p19ARF/ARF isoform of CDKN2A, a tumor suppressor. The encoded protein also plays a role in the DNA damage response by regulating the stability of USP7, which regulates tumor suppressor p53. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2017]
Gene Name: Thyroid Hormone Receptor Interactor 12
Chromosome: CHR2: 230631929 -230786655
Locus: 2q36.3
MAFF Gene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor that lacks a transactivation domain. It is known to bind the US-2 DNA element in the promoter of the oxytocin receptor (OTR) gene and most likely heterodimerizes with other leucine zipper-containing proteins to enhance expression of the OTR gene during term pregnancy. The encoded protein can also form homodimers, and since it lacks a transactivation domain, the homodimer may act as a repressor of transcription. This gene may also be involved in the cellular stress response. Multiple transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]
Gene Name: MAF BZIP Transcription Factor F
