TRIO-DNAH5 Fusion FISH Probe
The TRIO-DNAH5 Fusion FISH Probe is used to confirm a fusion of the TRIO and DNAH5 genes. The fusion of the TRIO and DNAH5 genes has been associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma. These probes are FISH confirmed on normal peripheral blood in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads before shipment. Typical turnaround time for this product is 7-14 days after purchase.
** This product is for in vitro and research use only. This product is not intended for diagnostic use. Please note that both genes fall on the same chromosome and inter-chromosomal detection may be difficult to detect depending on the genes proximity to one another. Please consult our support staff before ordering this product to ensure that the probe can be designed to meet your specific needs.

DNAH5 Gene Summary
This gene encodes a dynein protein, which is part of a microtubule-associated motor protein complex consisting of heavy, light, and intermediate chains. This protein is an axonemal heavy chain dynein. It functions as a force-generating protein with ATPase activity, whereby the release of ADP is thought to produce the force-producing power stroke. Mutations in this gene cause primary ciliary dyskinesia type 3, as well as Kartagener syndrome, which are both diseases due to ciliary defects. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Name: Dynein Axonemal Heavy Chain 5
Chromosome: CHR5: 13690436 -13944589
Locus: 5p15.2
TRIO Gene Summary
This gene encodes a large protein that functions as a GDP to GTP exchange factor. This protein promotes the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, thereby playing a role in cell migration and growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
Gene Name: Trio Rho Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor
Chromosome: CHR5: 14143828 -14509458
Locus: 5p15.2
